微软将于2009年10月1日起停止为Office Live Small Business用户的域名免费续费，当下次域名服务到期时，用户需要自己支付域名的费用。续费费用为$14.95，其中包含了域名的费用，域名的注册信息保护(Private Registration)费用，以及域名下的Live邮箱的费用。至此，我觉得微软之前为企业提供的免费域名及网站服务也将消失，有可能会有许多的用户转移到其他的服务去，例如考虑Google。至少我是打算放弃微软的Office Live服务了，限制实在太多了，我也受够了。 今天早上上班路上，收到一封来自微软的邮件，以为又是广告邮件，但看到标题标有Important字样，而且更有很敏感的Pricing，立即打开看了下，以下是邮件原文：

Domain Name Renewal Pricing

Dear Yi Feng,

We appreciate that you have chosen Microsoft Office Live Small Business to help your organization create a professional online presence.

We wanted to inform you of a policy change to your domain service. As of October 1, 2009, we will no longer offer free domain name renewals. When your custom domain, moja-design.com, comes up for renewal, you will need to pay the annual renewal fee of $14.95 by your expiration date of 6/13/2010.

This annual custom domain fee is consistent with the fees that a majority of Office Live Small Business customers currently pay. The services included with your domain renewal are:

• Your custom domain name
• Private registration of your domain name, which hides your personal registration and contact information from public view
• E-mail accounts personalized with your custom domain name, with 5GB of storage per account

Plus, as an Office Live Small Business customer you also have access to a number of services including FREE Web hosting (up to 500 MB), FREE Web design tools, and FREE Web site reporting.

There is nothing for you to do at this time, but note that you will need to pay the annual renewal fee when you receive your domain renewal notice approximately 45 days before your domain expiration date. If you choose not to pay the renewal fee, your domain name will automatically expire and all associated e-mail addresses will be discontinued. Your Web site will remain active, but will be available at a Web address such as http://yourname.web.officelive.com.

06年开始使用微软的Office Live，至现在有3年多的时间了，说实话也没怎么好好去用，主要就是让微软免费给我个域名，去用Live的邮箱。中间Office Live的IP被中国GFW了（3年前政府就开始了），以至于我的moja-design.com一直国内无法访问，外加工作很忙，那国内的翻墙技术没有得到普及，所以moja-design.com的网站我也干脆放弃了。之后只是在用有邮件，直到今年我转到了Google App上后，那个邮件也逐渐的去放弃了。在我慢慢放弃微软以后，微软也不想给我免费去续费那些我不用的东西了，所以我就收到了这封邮件。

将moja-design.com放弃了倒是没什么，讨厌的是我要去处理所有用moja@moja-design.com去注册的服务，包括了Microsoft Domains、PayPal、还有我的iTunes Store等许多的重要服务。希望一切顺利吧，不要在微软停掉了我的域名后再想起了什么东西。

为什么不去交那14.95美元呢？因为微软的服务真的很是垃圾，我宁可自己花钱在Godaddy上买个域名，再花钱租个空间自己手动去弄自己的网站，也不要去受微软的限制，最恶心的就是Office Live的website管理只能用IE去操作，而且那可怜的几种模版，不用建站工具只能上传静态页面，明明是.net的空间，也可以上传aspx的文件，但内容只能是静态的。而且个人觉得微软的Live Mail真的是没有Gmail好用，邮件功能不如狗狗，通讯录功能也不如，日历功能也不如，我还用微软的东西干嘛呢？

还有半年的准备时间，呵呵。今年第三次对微软说拜拜！
